Abstract

Quenching study: The connection between energy transfer and quenching processes is shown by the study of quenching of gamma ray induced fluorescence of toluene - anthracene solutions by carbontetrachloride (ccl4) or nithrobenzene (c6H5No2). The light emission due to the addition of ccl4 or c6H5No2 as quenchers shows that there is a sharp decrease in fluerescence intensity at low concentrations of ccl4 or c6H5No2 followed by an almost slower decrease at its higher concentrations as shown in figs.(6, ,14).
