Abstract

Wadi Nugrus area covers about 370² Km of the Arabian - Nubian Shield at the southern part of the Eastern Desert of Egypt. It comprises two nappes (ophiolitic rocks and arc assemblage) separated by tectonic melange assemblage. These rock associations are intruded by intracratonic rock association(Younger gabbros and hornblendites, Younger granites and post granitic dykes and veins). I-Upper Ophiolitic Nappe Complex : The dismembered ophiolitic nappe complex is mainly composed of meta - peridotites (dunite serpentinites, harzburgite serpentinites & meta - Iherzolites), meta - pyroxenites, Layered metagabbros and ortho - amphibolites.
