Abstract The study area is located at the southwestern part of Sinai along the eastern border of El - Qaa plain. It is bounded by latitudes 28° 20’ 33” and 28° 40’ 18” N and longitudes 33° 34’ 18” and 33° 53’ 45” E, and covers about 450 Km² of the Arabian - Nubian shield. The field and petrographic studies reveal that the area is mainly covered by Pan - African metamorphic rocks of green schist and locally amphibolite facies, mantle derived gabbroic, granitoids and Dokhan type volcanic rocks. They can be differentiated into the following rock units starting from the oldest : A- Arc Assemblage B- Syntectonic Association C- Late - to Post - Tectonic Association. |
