Abstract The obtained results could undoubtly lead to the following conclusions: The effect of urea treatment on the chemical composition of the Roughages: 1- It increased CP content of RS, MS, BS and SBS. 2- It reduced the CF and NDF contents of RS, MS, BS and SBS. 3- It reduced the Cellulose content of RS and MS more than BS and SBS. 4- It reduced the hemicellulose content of BS and SBS more than RS and MS. 5- There was no effect on the ADL content of RS, MS, BS and SBS. The effect of urea treatment, protein and carbohydrate sources on the digestion of the roughages : The results showed that there were significant differences as the effect of the kind of the roughage. The urea treatment with adding protein and carbohydrate source improved cereal straws (RS and MS) digestion more than legumes straws (BS and SBS), but treated RS digestion was the best one and treated SBS digestion was the lowest one. The formulae which give the highest improvement as TON% were:1- Treated RS + FM +(molasses and maize). 2- Treated MS +SSM+ (molasses and maize).3- Treated BS + FM +(molasses and maize).4- Treated SBS + FM + maize. |
