Abstract This study was carried out at Gimmizah experimental station, which belongs to the animal research institute, Ministry of agriculture. This study aimed to investigate the effect of feeding of different sources of unprotected or protected, soybean meal and linseed meal in complete feed diets on growth performance of fattening lambs, nutrients digestibilities and feeding values of the tested diets. Some blood constituents, rumen liquor parameters and carcass characteristics of sheepwere also studied. The experiment continued for 126 days and included 28 crossbred lambs (suffolk×Ossimi) aged two months and averaged 18+0.6 kg live body weight. The animals were distributed to four similar groups (7 in each)according to the average body weight. The experimental animal groups were fed on four isonitrogenous and iso-caloric experimental total mixed rations (TMR’ s) as follow: Group 1 : fed TMR containing 20%untreated soybean meal (U-SBM). Group 2: fed TMR containing 20%formaldeyde treated soybean meal (T-SBM). Group 3 : fed TMR containing 30% untreated linseed meal (U-LSM). Group 4: fed TMR containing 30%formaldehyde treated linseed meal (T-LSM). |
