Abstract The effect of Noah treatment o.x1 the feeding value of roughages was mainly evaluated by the indirect feeding method using different basal feeds. Associative effect was found to be the main reason for the conflicting responses. The present, study was undertaken to examine a proposed system for evaluating the treated and untreated roughages using direct feeding. The effect of soaking in and spraying with Noah on the nutritive composition, actual and the net feeding values of treated and untreated RS and MS, being important roughages in Egypt was studied Four Rabmany rams were used, two of them being fitted with rmi1en cannula. This was to study some ru.111en parameters hen fed with studied roughages. Rumen pH, BC, VFA and Nh3 -N were determined in rumen samples taken before feeding and 2, 4 and 8 hrs. after feeding. Disappearance of DM from dacron bags, containing the tested roughcge1 was determined after being suspended in the rumen for 8, 16 and 24 hrs. |
