Abstract

The present investigation was carried out at Sakha Agricultures. Station during 1985/86 and 1986/87 seasons to study the efficiency of liquid ammonia ( 82% N), urea ( 46% N), ammonium sulphate ( 20.5 % N) and ammonium nitrate ( 33% N) on wheat production. Each source was used at four rates of 0,30,60 and 90 kg N/fed.
The experiments were laid out in split plot design with four replications in both season. The treatments of nitrogen rates were arranged in the main plots, and those of nitrogen sources in the sub plots. In either season, the experiment consisted of 16 treatments, which were the combination of 4 N rates and four N sources.
bAfter all tillage processes were done and before sowing anhydrous ammonia was injected directly into the specified plots, 15 cm depth, with the rates of 0, 30, 60 and 90 kg N/ fad by means of a blade applicator attached to a hydraulic tractor. The soil, thereafter, was leveled to restrict volatilization. After 7 days from injection, all the experimental plots received 100 kg/fad calcium superphosphate (15.5% P2 0 5). Then wheat grains of Sakha 69 variety (Triticum aestivum L.) were sown at the 29th of Nov 1985 and 1st of Dec. 1986 in the 1st and 2nd seasons respectively. The N rates of the solid forms were divided into two equal doses broadcasted at the 1st and 2nd irrigations.
