Abstract The present study has revealed that, the gills of eels, Anguilla anguilla inhabiting NileDelta waters are infected with two monogenean parasites namely Pseudodactylogyrus anguillae (Yin and Sproston, 1948) Gussev, 1965 and Gyrodac-tylus sp. (Ogawa and Hoiki, 1986). The intensity of Gyrodact-Ylus sp. was very low. Therefore, the present study was concentrated on P. anguillae particularly its internal ana-tomy, surface sensilla and muscular systems of the main attachment organ and copulatory apparatus. |
