Abstract This study was carried out on 10 completely edentulous patients to evaluate the maxillary denture displacement during functional and closed mouth relining impression techniques with tissue conditioning impression material. The results of this study revealed that:- 1- Maxillary complete denture was displaced in three co-ordinates during functional and closed mouth relining impression procedure with tissue conditioner material. 2- Comparing functional and closed mouth relining impression procedure when tissue conditioning material was used, non of the comparisons were found significant. In Conclusion: 1- Closed mouth impression technique is not superior to functional one regarding maxillary denture displacement when tissue conditioner is the material of choice for relining procedure. Regarding simplicity, functional relining impression technique may be selected as it eliminates the need for border refining and inter-occlusal record during the relining procedure with tissue conditioner. |
