Abstract
Cataract surgery in children has changed and improved during recent decades. Intraocular lens implantation in children is associated with higher postoperative complications. Acrysof IOLs have a higher degree of biocompatibility.
The aim of the work : To review the problems with cataract in pediatrics and the surgical outcomes of Acrysof IOLs implantation in pediatric cataract surgery.
Conclusion : 1- Acrysof IOLs fits the pediatric eye ; it dose not affect axial growth .
2- Acrysof IOLs seems to inhibit secondary glaucoma .
3- Acrysof IOLs as compared to PMMA IOLs are more biocompatible .
