Abstract The study aim was Immunohistochemical detection of fibronectin in healing of osseous defects filled with fluorohydroxyapatite( Algipore®)* in guinea pigs. Fifty two adult male guinea pigs were used in this study. Animals were divided into two main groups: control group: A bony cavity was made in the submental area of the right side of the mandible. experimental group: animals were subjected to implantation of fluorohydroxyapatite bone substitute material (Algipore), in a similar induced bony cavity. Animals have been sacrified after 7,15,30,45 days postsurgical. Section were prepared for staining with : Haematoxyline and Eosin.Masson’s Trichrome stain. And immunohistochemical staining for fibronectin. results of the study showed: Bone healing was faster in the osseous defects of the expermintal group sections filled with Algipore as compared to control ones. Fibronectin detection in the healed bone defects was seen more earlier in the bone matrix of expermintal group sections as compared to the control ones which proves the role of Algipore in the stimulation of osteoblastic activity in matrix formation and its mineralization. |
