Abstract In this research, a dynamic warp tension measuring system was developed to record and analyze the warp tension distribution across weaving machine width on a number of modern weaving machines with different number of warp beams and produced fabrics, the difference in warp tension between the first and the last heald shaft was also measured for plain and satin fabric. The warp tension was also measured before and after the back rest as an indication to the tension increase on the threads from the warp beam to the beating- up zone. In the last part of this research, the fabric tensile properties across its width were measured in correlation with the warp tension distribution across the same width. |
