المستخلص The major purpose of this study was to investigate: The conceptual framework for Characteristic Educational Programs Research Method: A descriptive research design was employed. Research Sample : Sample for this study included 125 staff members recruited from medical, pharmaceutical, and engineering sectors and 660 Egyptian and foreign students enrolled at Mansoura-Manchester Medical Program. Research Instrument: Instruments included three types of questionnaires which were administered to staff members, Egyptian students (n=590) and foreign students (n=70) respectively. Research Results: Findings yielded from this study indicated that: a) Channeling with a foreign institution was the most lucrative factor to students for joining these programs and to staff members was higher pay. b) Equity among students was ensured through the Admission Office. c) Compared to private universities, these programs cost less and are subject to government regulations. d) Credit hour system and academic advising still need to be implemented. e) Lack of facilities in these programs. f) These programs could stand as good educational models. g) These programs could help diminish the existing private tutoring phenomenon. Research recommendation: Finally several recommendations were suggested for better implementation of these programs. |
