Abstract The thesis falls in four parts: Part I: Comprises the spectrophotometric determination of pindolol via charge transfer complex formation using tetracyanoethylene, p-chloranilic acid as - acceptors and iodine -acceptor. Part II: Deals with the use of certain metal ions (CU2+, Ag +) for the determination of indomethacin by atomic absorption and colonmetric methods. Part III: Concerns with the quantitative determination of chlorthalidone by fluorescence labeling using 5- dimethylaminonaphthalene-1 –sulphony1 chloride (dansy1 chloride). Part IV: Comprises the application of PMR spectroscopy for the determination of pindolol, chlorthalidone and indomethacin. The choice of solvents and conditions will depend on practical findings which will be detailed in the experimental part. The adaptation of the developed methods, based on the above mentioned reactions techniques to suit the assay of the selected drugs as raw materials or in dosage forms will be given special consideration as one of the goals of the study. All practical findings drawn out of the experimental work together with the expected results of the proposed methods will be thoroughly interpreted in the discussion part. The thesis comprises 15 tables ,18 figures ,170 references and Arabic summary. |
