Abstract The relation between sex and GERD in the 40 patients of the study was studied. The distribution ofGERD among patients of the study had no statistically significant difference between males and females. The relation between age and GERD in the 40 patients of the study was studied. The highest incidence of positive results ofGERD was in the age group (40-49 ys). The incidence ofGERD among patients of the study and subjects of the control group was studied. Only one subject of the control group had positive reflux esophagitis by 24 hours pH metery. The incidence among patients of the study group was highly statistically significant for positive reflux esophagitis compared with that ofthe control group. |
