Abstract

In this work some complication reactions were studied, complex formation reactions can be generally defined as electron donor-acceptor interaction. Several types of interactions occur depending upon reactant structures and solvent environment. The chemical bond in complexation reactions varies from quite weak and delocalized bond to a strong covalent bond or a complete electorn transfer with formation of radical ions.
The aimk of this study is ot develop specific feasible and sensitive procedures for the assay of some drugs and the adaptation of these procedures to be available for pharmaceutical dosage forms.
The used pharmaceutical ingredients having different chemical structures and activities, these chemical structures and activities were summarized in thabe (1)
The thesis falls in 5 parts:
Part I: Tis part demonstrates and theoreticfal basic background review on the previous methods of assay of the cited drugs.
Part II: this part describes methods depend on drug-metal coplexes, it is divided into 2 chapters:
• Chapter A: This part describes spectrophotometric method for determination of chelate formed between enalapril maleate and timolol with palladium (II) chloride and its analytical applications.
. Chapter B: This part demonstrates a complexation method for determation of diltiazzem and trazodone hydrochlorides using ammonium reineckate.
