Abstract

•Introduction: Feeding cost of rabbits represents about 65% of total productive cost . At the same time there are a huge amount of wheat bran without any economical utilization . Wheat Bran may be reduced feeding cost efficiently. Enzymes addition play a good role in feed utilization improvement . • Aim of the study: Investigating the effects of wheat bran inclusion in rabbit diets at 15, 30, 45 and 60 % as well as the enzyme supplementation to 45 and 60 % wheat bran on their growth performance, feed utilization, carcass traits, blood constituents and economic efficiency .•Materials and methods: Sixty NZW rabbits at 6 weeks were used in two experiments. Four experimental diet were formulated containing 15, 30, 45 and 60 % wheat bran with enzyme addition to the diet of 45 and 60 % . Digestibility and slaughtering tests were carried out . Blood plasma was obtained . Some productive traits were recorded with calculating the economic efficiency .•Results: Wheat bran level had no negative effects on growth performance, digestibility nutritive value and carcass traits . The economic efficiency was improved with increasing 15, 30 and 45% the level of wheat bran in the diet. The enzyme supplementation had no obvious effects on all traits . •Recommendations: Wheat bran may be included in rabbit diets up to 45% without enzyme supplementation with obtaining acceptable results from the practical and scientific points of view .
