Abstract
The application of unloaded porous polyurethane foams and foams immobilizing chromogenic reagents as cellular solid extractor, is considered as a useful addition to the field of chemical separation and preconcentration. Polyurethane foam the matrix onto its separate constituents and yields an appropriate enrichment factor. The quasi-spherical membrane structure of these foams offers real advantages for collecting trace amounts of metal ion on these surfaces, i.e. concentrating them for easier and sensitive detection of the colored complexes formed.
