Abstract
The present work deals with the problem of impotence in diabetics. To evaluate its prevalence, the role of neuropathy, vasculopathy and the psychogenic element in its development. The value of local intracavernosal papaverine injection line of therapy was also evaluated in some patients. A survey study included 200 known diabetic males of different age groups was carried out among those attending the Diabetes and Endocrine out patient Clinic at Mansoura University Hospital. A detailed personal and psychosexual history were taken. Two hours postprandial blood glucose level was estimated for all patients. To establish the role of various etiologic factors 130 9 (102 impotent and 28 potent) patients out of the interviewed 200 diabetic males were subjected to: full clinical examination.
