Abstract This work was done in the geneticsuni t, pedia¬tric departme~t, Mansoura Hospital. The study in¬cluded 80 cases most of them were chosen from haema- tological unit in the Shatby hospital of Alexandria Univer.sity and the rest from the haematological unit in ped.iatric department, }J1ansoura University. Two groups were includeds The first group included 51 thalassaemic patients (29 males and 22 females), their ages ranged from five months to 15 years. They were presented clinically by pallor, hepatomegally, and splenOmegallY. 5 They were subjected to the following investigations: 1- Complete blood picture and haematocrit value. 2- Hb electrophoresis. 3- HbF estimation by alkali denaturation -test • They are subj eoted to G6pD assay of red blood cellS. |
