Since the latest nineties of the twentieth century Alexandria had gone through great changes and transformations in architecture and urban design. Theses changes and transformations have found widely along the main waterfront for Alexandria (al-corniche) which developed very fast. And was the main reason for the changes and transformations of architecture and urban design that had been seen especially along Alexandria’s corniche and generally in the entire city. And because of Alexandria’s great place in the ancient world and its grate place nowadays in Egypt, came the thinking of choosing Alexandria and studying what it went through in its development in architecture and urban design, this is through determining and studying the main reasons that stated these transformations in architecture and urban design as a step on the way of trying to put some rules and restricts for these transformations. Also this research aims to try to find some advantages and disadvantages that might happen due to the transformation of architecture and urban design for al-corniche way to try to affect the advantages good and reduce the bad effects of possible disadvantages, and to see its reflections on the Alexandrian people. This research consider as a documentation for an experience which deserves to be documented through history to find the effects of that new way (al-corniche) and to show it’s main architectural and urban design characters as a step on the way to find some possible advantages and disadvantages that had happened as a result of it’s development and widening to conclude some recommendations which improve the advantages and reduce the disadvantages.
