Abstract Tumor necrosis factor have been shown to be cytostatic. cytotoxic or both against several established malignant cell lines and freshly explanted tumors without obvious speciecs specificity. Moreover, the growth inhibitory activity of TNF seems to be restricted to malignant cell lines because the growth of non malignant cell lines is unaffected or may even be promoted by TNF. |
