Abstract Diversity of oplnlon still exists regarding the mechanism of of ACL, the efficacy of the diagnostic techniques, the of functional disability after ACL injury and the proper pf a knee with a deficient ACL. The aim of this work is to study the clinical presentation ACL-defi9ient knee the results after conservative and managment ,and different factors affecting the overall results. We reviewed the anatomy and kinematics of ACL, the diagnosis and managment of ACL-deficient knee. Ninty patients with chronic ACL injury were included in the study. Seventy-nine patients were treated in Mansoura University and eleven in Mount Gould Hospital of Plymouth in United in the period between 1983-1990. ,The injury occurred In the cases during playing football, mainly due to twisting Before injury, the majority of our patients (84.45%) were participants in recreational sports. After injury, most them had significant functional disability that prevented any recreational activities (13.33%) and often were present with activities (82.23%). Fourty patients had recurrent reinjuries. Fifty-nine patients had meniscal injuries. |
