Abstract The present work deals with the lithostratigraphy and biostratigraphy of the Paleozoic rocks, about 370m thick, exposed in Um Bogma area of southwestern Sinai. Aerial photographs, topographic maps together with the field measurements and observations are compiled to construct a simplified geologic map of Um Bogma area (Fig. 4). Six well exposed sections are sampled in detail at Wadi Khaboba, Wadi Shallal, Um Bogma, Wadi Nasib, Allouga and Gabal Sarabit El Khadim. The successions at Wadi Abu Thora, Gabal Nukhul, Wadi Dabbabat, Wadi El Hemeira and Sid Abu Aegela are sporadically sampled. |
