Abstract
Normal haemostasis is maintained by a balance between the coagulation and fibrinolytic system. Hyper¬coagulability includes changes in coagulation factors, fibrinolytic system, platelets and inhibitors of coagu¬lation and fibrinolysis, these changes are important for the development of thrombosis. The aim of this work is to study some coagulative changes in the nephrotic syndrome and their possible mechanisms. The patients in this work were selected from both pediatric and nephrology department s, Mans¬aura University Hospital, they comprise 20 children (13 11 and 7F), their ages ranged from 1.5-14 years, all of them are diagnosed as idiopathic nephrotic synd¬ The control group comprises 10 normal children matched age and sex. Patients as well as controls are subjected to the follOWing investigations: 1. Prothrombin time: applying the method of Quick one¬stage time (1935). 2. Activated partial thromboplastin time: applying the method of Langdell et a1. (1953).
