Abstract This study was conducted on potato crop cv. Spunta during the two seasons of 2001 and 2003 to investigate the effect of soil dressing with Ammonium nitrate, Ammonium sulfate and Ureaformaldhyde as N-fertilizers at the three N-levels 50, 100 and 150 kgN/fed. either alone or in combination with biofertilizer (Azospirillum + Azotobacter) in addition to their interactions on plant vegetative growth, yield and yield components as well as tuber quality, chemical composition and storability of tubers. The experiment included 18 treatments as following, three N-fertilizers of chemical N-fertilizers (Ammonium nitrate, Ammonium sulfate and Ureaformaldhyde) were applied at 50, 100 and 150 kg N/fed. Each level of ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate were divided and applied at two equal doses with the first and second irrigation, while Ureaformaldhyde was added as one dose before the first irrigation. The experimental design was split-split plot system with 3 replicates. The three N-fertilizers occupied the main plots which were subdivided to three sub plots each contained one of the nitrogen levels while, the biofertilization treatments were assigned to sub-sub plots. |
