Abstract
The work described in this thesis has been undertaken with the aim of searching for synthesis of new hydrazone complexes. The work presented in this thesis consists of three main parts.
Part I : Introduction It contains a literature survey on the hydrazone complexes which have been prepared up tp 2006 and its application in analytical chemistry and biological activity.
Part II : Experimental It contains a description of the experimental procedures used for the preparation of the hydrazones from the reaction of 3hydroxy 2naphthoic hydrazide and different ketones and/or aldehydes and its complexes Part III : Results and Discussion It contains a the results obtained and a discussion of this results in order to determned the chemical structures of the isolated ligands (hydrazones) and its metal complexes using different chemical analysis methods like spectral data (IR, UVVis, HNMR, ESR), thermal, magnetic measurements. Also, the antimicrobial activities for many prepared compounds was performed using the cupdiffusion technique in solid agar plates against two important microbes. Pseudomonas aeurginosa was tested as a standard gram negative pathogenic bacteria and Bacillus Subtilis as standard gram positive bacteria.
