Abstract

In this study , semen parameters of infertile men were compared with fertile control group . Methods : A total of 68 male (20 varicocele, 15 accessory sex gland inflammation , 16 idiopathic infertility ,and 17 control ) were evaluated .Evaluation included medical history , physical examination , hormone analysis ,semen analysis , the hypoosmotic swelling ( HOS ) test . The seminal plasma was analysed for IL 8, malondialdehyde , and the suspensions of spermatozoa were extracted for nucleotides separation. Results : IL8 concentrations were highly significantly increased in MAGI group compared with control , varicocele , and idiopathic groups . Seminal plasma concentration of malondialdehyde (MDA) per 10 8 sperm was highly significantly increased in MAGI , varicocele , and idiopathic groups than in the control group. The levels of ATP, GTP , CTP( UTP ) , (NS(BAMP , (NS(BGMP , (NS(BCMP , and (NS(BUMP were highly significantly decreased in MAGI , varicocele , and idiopathic groups as compared with the control group . The results of HOS test were highly significantly lower in MAGI , varicocele , and idiopathic groups compared with the control group. Conclusion : Male infertility is a multifactorial medical problem. Determination of IL8 in the seminal plasma of infertile patients with genital infection provides clinically useful information . It was revealed that excess oxidants production is of great deleterious impact on sperm quality and male fertility potential. Also , the presented data suggest variant types of nucleotides to affect the fertilizing capacity of the spermatozoa.
