Abstract Acute conjunctivitis has been mentioned to be a common disease in the pediatric age group . Material & Method : We performed as study of 107 eyes with acute conjunctivitis . A swab from lower conjunctiva was cultured on agar. Results : The study showed that : Staphylococci were commonest organism isolated it represent 50.46 % of samples . Next in frequency were streptococcal viridans it represent 9.35%. While proteus inirabilis represented 5.61% . Conclusion : Staphylococci are the organisms commonly isolated followed by streptococcal viridans. |
