Abstract Hundred pigeon samples were randomly collected from different pigeon lofts in Dakahlia Province. This pigeons suffering from nervous manifestations and diarrhea. Parts from liver, spleen, lung and brain were collected for isolation and identification of pigeon Paramyxovirus type1 by some serological tests such as haemagglutination inhibition, agar gel precipitation test and neutralization test followed by studying relationship between isolated strain and NDV (Lasota strain). Also, seventy five sera were collected from pigeon suffering from the same clinical signs for detection of antibodies of PPMV1 physiocochemical studies of the isolated strain and standard PPMV1 strain were performed by studying effect of 56oC, acid, alkalines and ether 20%. Experimental inoculaion of one of the isolated strains in hundred squabs by different routs (I/V, I/N, I/M and S/C) was performed the reisolation of the inoculated virus in different tissues after different period intervals. We concluded that PPMV1 could infect pigeons by nervous manifestation and diarrhea as isolation and identification of the virus were performed from these pigeons also antibodies against PPMV1 were detected in diseased pigeons suffering from the same signs. Also there is antigenically and serologically relationships between isolated virus and lasota strains. PPMV1 was affected by exposure to 56oC for 3060 min, acid and alkaline and ether 20%, reisolation and detection of the virus from tissues of experimentally infected squabs by different routes at different period intervals beside indirect immunoflourescent antibodies technique were used for confirming the isolated virus. |
