Abstract

Some different N2fixing bluegreen algare are isolated from rice fields. Anlaysis of Anabaena oryzae, Calothrix marchica, Cylindrospermum muscicola, Nostoc muscorum, Nostoc rivulare and Tolypothrix bouteillei culture filtrates showed the presence of different amounts and types of phytohormones, organic acids, cabohydrate and nitrogen fractions. The germination of canola, rice, tomato and wheat seeds is stimulated after soaking in these culture filtrates. Some selected algal species can grow heterotrophically at presnce of different carbon sources. A specific biofertilizers for each studied crop plant are prepared from selected algal species. Application of biofertilizer for each plant lead to increasing its productivity and also saving or reducing the amount of added chemical nitrogen fertilizers.
