Abstract

In fact, Egypt is full of coastal water in the Mediterranean and red sea. Therefore, must be increase of mariculture production in Egypt .it could enhance nutrition employment and personal incomes and also reduce foreign exchange expenditures. Sea bass, dicentrarchus labrex, represents one the most important fish species in mariculture programs not only in Egypt, but also in other Mediterranean countries. But, unfortunately, scientific management, of rearing and nutritional researches for sea bass, sea bream (sparus altrata) and golden grey mullet (lizo allrafa) culti vation by mono or polyculture has not progressed as rapidly as with fresh water fishes. It has only started to grow recently after many years of stagnation, mainly due to the lack of reliable technology for species, rearing and feeding suitable for Egyptian conditions. These may be, also, due to lacking of coordination between public research organization and the private sector. Therefore, the first step in the present work is the study of the main problems facing some existing Egyptian marine fi sh. The results revealed that: 1-the total marine fish farms under cultivation about 20,000 faddan, most of them in Damietta governorate (70%). 2-the main problems in marine fish farms are: - Sewage and industrial pollution affected on quality farms water. - The water quality in Mussalas area , Damietta especially in shatta Canal and its tributaries are variable all the year round, mainly salinity. Ammonia and oxygen . - The shortage in marine fish fry.
