Abstract This thesis is concerned with the application of a suggested model to an isotropic uniaxial ferromagnetic system. The systems chosen for the study are either model systems, of different magnetic configurations, or real material systems of the rareearth transition metal compounds family. In particular we calculated the magnetization curve, magnetic susceptibility, probability distribution, magnetic specific heat and torque using the basic relations of equilibrium statistical thermodynamics within the framework of our suggested model. These basic relations involve the partition function of the system and its field or temperature derivatives. The model systems are the so called easyaxis, easyplane and easycone systems and the real materials are mostly from the R2Fe14 B compounds with R=Nd, Pr, Ho, Er, Y,Ce , Gd , Dy and Tb in addition to few representatives of the RCo5, RFe11Ti and R3(Fe, T)29 systems, these materials are of interest on both the fundamental and technological levels. The comparison of the results of our model with the available experimental data show that the model successfully produced almost all the major features of the magnetic properties of the systems studied. |
