Abstract The thesis comprises three chapters. The first one includes literature survey on the coordination behaviour of azo compounds. The aim of investigation and the statement of the problem are included in this chapter. The second chapter of the thesis is concerned with the experimental work. The preparation of eight azodyes quinoline compounds containing ortho and para functional groups with different electronic properties and the preparation of the azo complexes are described eight azo ligands namely : HL1 = 5(4`phenyldiazo)8hydroxy7quinolinecarboxaldehyde. HL2 = 5(4`methylphenyldiazo)8hydroxy7quinolinecarboxaldehyde. HL3 = 5(4`methoxyphenyldiazo)8hydroxy7quinolinecarboxaldehyde. HL4 = 5(4`aminophenyldiazo)8hydroxy7quinolinecarboxaldeh( = al data of quinoline azo complexes give [UO2(L1)2], [UO2 |
