Abstract
A mass spectrometer VARIAN - MAT CH - 5 DF of reversed Nier-Johnson geometry was used to investigate the deuterium isotope effects on the ionization efficiency (IE) curves for Molecular and fragment ions of the following molecules 1- Water and Water-d2. 2- Methanol and Methanol-d4 3- Methyl Cyanide and Methyl Cyanide-d3 4- Nitromethane and Nitromethane-d3 5- Nitrobenzene and Nitrobenzene-d5. Analysis of the IE-curves have been carried out on the basis of a quasi-monoenergetic technique namely the electron energy distribution difference method (EDD).
