Abstract

In our study there is a positive correlation between the results from MVA combined with TVS and final hysteroscopic guided biopsy. 1. High frequency transvaginal sonography is a fairly simple, non invasive technique that should be used in the diagnosis of endometrial abnormalities in postmenopausal women. When endometrial thickness is more than 5mm, endometrial abnormalities are to be expected with a recommendation of the use of another diagnostic complementary method as histopathology to establish the diagnosis. 2. Using simple endometrial sampling techniques as MVA instead of inpatient D & C is recommended as screening measures of patient with postmenopausal bleeding with endometrial thickness more than 5mm 3. Manual vacuum aspiration seems to exhibit unique efficacy in relation to conventional D& C and so improves the accessibility of the office based sampling in post menopausal bleeding. 4. Hysteroscopy with endometrial biopsy has become the method of choice for diagnosis of endometrial abnormalities among patients with postmenopausal bleeding. Hysteroscopy with directed biopsy of suspicious lesions became the gold-standard investigation.
