Abstract

Mitral valve prolapse (NWP) the systolic billowing of mitral leaflets toward LA had been extensively studied in normal population in congenital heart disease in coronary artery disease in rheumatic heart disease and among patients with dilated cardiomyopathY (DCM). The disturbance Of the normal balance between ventricular and valv’ular pathological features of mitral leaflets or chordae. Congestive heart failure (CBF) is a syndrome that arise when the heart is unable to maintain output sufficient to meet the metabolic needs of the body at a normal filling pressure, provided that the venous return to the heart is normal. Heart failure (Ey) is often preceded by ventricular dysfunction and is accompanied by compensatory ventricular hypertrophy and or dilation. The aim of our study is to evaluate the influence of CHF on the appearance and characteristic of MVP among patients with different cardiac disease. We concentrate during our study to differentiate between the primary mYxoematous mitral leaflet degeneration ,m ML) (or primary MVP); with its characteristic long chordae and long voluminous leaflets which show some degree of leaflet folding during ventricular systole from the presence of only prolapsed motion of mitral leaflets during ventricular systole that fulfil the criteria for MVP diagnosis (systolic cephalade displacement of one or both mitral. leaflets of 3mrn or more from annular plane).
