Abstract Pulmonary embolism is a common condition with considerable !ortality and morbidity. The clinical diagnosis is unreliable, erefore, the diagnosis ofPE relies on imaging modalities. The aim of this work is to assess the values and limitations of he different imaging modalities and also to try to reach the origin of pulmonery.embolisrn. This study included 22 patients who were suspected clinically to have PE. They were 14 males (63.6%) and 8 females (36.4%) with age range of23-75 years and a mean age of 49 years. Patients with clinical suspicion to have PE were subjected to the following procedures. Clinical examinations for all patients X-ray chest for all patients. Color Doppler US to pelvis and both lower limbs for all patients. Spiral computed tomographic angiography (CT A) for all patients. Perfusion lung scintigraphy for all patients. Pulmonary angiography for 3 patients. |
