Abstract
I The study aims at evaluating ~he interrelation between infiltrating duct carcinoma of the breast and pathological changes classified as benign proliferative breast disease. Twenty cases were included in the study from cases presented with operable breast carcinoma. The result demonstrates the histopathological correlation of invasive cancer foci and coincidental proliferative breast disease in cross section of Egyptian rural population. Our results clearly demonstrate. the high coincidence of PBD with invasive carcinoma although the epidemiological correlation of cancer breast with PBD finds general agreement, no definite management plan is settle~ till now. This is largely due to unclear understanding of the pathological pathways governing the proliferative disorders in the breast. Our observations stressed that adenosis is the most frequently encounter~d lesion in conjunction of breast neoplasms in our population.
