Abstract Laparoscopic cholecystectomty is a minimal access surgery it’s designed to cause the least physiological, psychological and anatomical trauma to the patient and it’s show very low infection rate in comparison with open cholecystectomy. Antibiotics were used for laparoscopic cholecystectomy of no value as the result of our study there’s no difference between use or non use of antibiotic in this operation. Also, Tocchi et al., 2000 confirm this in his study. Antibiotics that were used are very expensive and many surgeons thinking that the drug are totally safe and not known that sometimes the adverse affect of the drug is greatly than the hazards of infection and ”misuse of antibiotics leads to production of resistant strains of bacteria which resist the available antibiotics and playa major problem difficult to be controlled. |
