Abstract Hepatocellular carcinoma is one of the important types of cancer known. This is due to its high incidence and fatality. The mortality . incidence ratio reported by the cancer registries is close to or greater than ndioating that the majority of cases do not survive 1 year. This is firmed by most clinical series, particularly in developing countries. The main aetiologies of HCC in Egypt are HCV infection and atoxin exposure and to a less extent HBV. HCC emerge in cirrhotic livers in more than 90% of cases. Patient ith liver cirrhosis, in fact, have long been identified as being a high risk roup for the development of HCC. Yearly incidence of HCC in cirrhotic ”patients may reach 3.5% and HCC is recognized as the principal cause of death for these patients. Diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) depends on many approaches. Clinical diagnosis depend on history, presentation and clinical examination of the patient. |
