Abstract This study was conducted on 72 subjects, who were subdivided into 4 groups: Group I: Includecll9 patients of stable angina. Group 11: Included 16 patients of acute myocardial infarction. Group III: Included 17 patients of unstable angina. Group IV: Included 20 normal healthy subjects as controls. All subjects (patients and control) were subjected to the following: l- Through history taking. 2- Through clinical examination. 3- Investigations including. a- Routine laboratory investigations. b- Blood examination: as serum creatinine, serum urea, blood sugar, serum bilirubin and myocardial enzymes inducing C.P.K., S.G.O.T. and L.D.H. with special stress on lipid profile (serum triglycerides, serum cholesterol, serum LDL-c, serum HDL-c, serum phospholipids and serum lipoprotein (a). The following results were obtained: 1- Total cholesterol was significantly increased in patients of unstable angian and infarction with no sex difference. 2- Serum LDL-c level was significantly• high in patients with unstable angina and patient with acute myocardial infarction with higher risk in males than in females although they were risky in both sexes. !. |
