Abstract

In any culture where having children is highly valued; infertility can be an overwhelming burden for the childless couple. Society has traditionally looked towards the women as the responsible of a couple’s infertility. In fact., the physiological responsibility is almost equally shared and the male is of a significant role of infertility as about 40% of infertility causes is wholly or in part due to a male factor (Speroff et al, 1994). Assisted reproductive technology has become the frontier of both infertility treatment and research one of the assisted Reproductive technologies is artificial insemination. It is the non-coital or instrumental deposition of semen into the female genital tract to Increase the chance of conception between the partners (Kovacs and Burger, 1984). Regarding the source of semen used and the site of insemination either in-vivo or in-vitro , types of artificial insemination are 1) Artificial insemination husband (AIH). 2) Artificial insemination donor (AID). 3) Artificial insemination in vivo. 4) In-vitro fertilization (IVF).
