Abstract
At the end we still think that laparoscopic colectomy is, still in its nascent stages it is unwise to compare its results with the results of the conventional open technique as we are still in our learning curve. Laparoscopic skills must be developed firest as in laparoscopic colectomy needs three basic skills which is mobiliztion , devascularization, and anastomosis which if carried out intra- corporeally is a very difficult laparoscopic procedure and usually of no benifit to the patient as a small incision is required anyway for specimen extraction. the use of laparoscope in curative treatment of colorectal malignancy can not be proven before long term follow up is done before it can be validated as a curative method in malignant conditions. Yet a multicentric study and a long term follow up is needed .
