Abstract Early detection of gastrointestinal malignancy refers to application of tests that allow presump- tive diagnosis of various cancer in large sections of population, these tests should be sensitive enough to detect the majority of cases which will incr~ase the survival rates, these tests include: 1- Biochemical tests: These are based on identification of substances produced by tumoUr cells in the serum or other body fluids 8!1d excretin; they are: .
