Abstract
This study was done in Dakahlia Governorate to collect community based informations on the problem has a considerable impact on productivity and health programmes. A multistage stratified random sample was selected from Mansoura City and 20 villages in 5 districts in Dakahlia Governorate. Ten of these villages are served with rural health centers while the others were deprived from such services.The number of population in this study was 5396, distributed as follows: 2768 (51.3%) from urban area and 2628 (48.7%) from rural areas, from them 1270 (23.5%) were served with health centers (H.C.) and 1358 (25.2%) were not served with H.C. The age of the population ranged from 2.months to 82 years and 2799 (51.9%) of the total sample were below the age of 20 years. The total number of males was 2757 (51.1%), while the total number of females was 2639 (48.9%) .
