Abstract Thirty patients with acute post streptococcal glomerul- onephritis with their ages ranging from 3 to 11 years, 12 males and 18 females were the mater ial of this study. All patients were fullfiled the criteriae of APSGN : Hematuria, hypertension, oliguria and + ve throat or wound culture for streptococci. The patients were devided randomly into two groups Group 1 : Did not receive anti hypertensive (adelfan tablets) . Grroup II : Received adeflan tablets. Both groups were observed closely with basal and follow up readings including - Daily urine analysis. - Daily measurement of the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. - Daily weighting of the patients. - Weekly estimation of serum creatinine and creatinine clearance (which is used as a measure of glomerular filtration rate). |
