Abstract

In radial keratotomy operation multiple radial incisions the cornea are done to correct myopia. These incisions serve to weaken the palacentraI and petiphetal COtnea, so that central portion flattens and the refractive power decreases. The objective of study is to evaluate the effect of variation of the number of incision on the degree of coreal flattening, and the amount of refractive change. 52 females were inclUded in this clinical study, 46 Patients were bilateral and 4 patients were unilateral one hunderd eyes were subjected to the operation of Radial keratoomy. Patients were grouped into 4 grouPS according to eyes were subjected to the operation of Radial were bilateral and 4 patients Were unilateral one the degree of the myopic error and the number of incisions. Group A included cases with cycloplegic retaction between 1.0 D to -2.75 D. In whom 4 incisions were done. This group comprised 26 eyes. Group B comprised cases with the same myopia but 8 incisions were done, 22 eyes were includeed in this group. Group C comprised cases with amount were done 27 eyes were included in this group. varied between - 3.0 D to but 8.0 D. and 4 incisions Group D, 8 incisions were done, 25 eyes were LJF l1Iyop i a in gl aup C, but Included in this group.
