Abstract Cervical dysplasia refers to the lesions of the uterine that show abnormalities of maturation and proliferation below the level of carcinoma in situ. Dysplasia a significant lesion and should be eradicated as it may progress to carcinoma in situ and invasive carcinoma. Exfol iative cytology is generlly accept.ed as an important tool in early diagnosis of cancer cervix as it is fast. relatively inexpensive and requires little training. ColposcoPY must be considered as complementary not competitor to cytology. Using both methods improve the diagnostic accuracy. Immunosuppression increases the incidence of de novo malignancies. Among 46 cases receiving immunosuppressive therapy, 2 cases proved to be mild dysplasia. Therefore, under immunosuppressive therapy should be monitored physical examination. local pelvic examination and cytologic examination before institution of such-therapy and thereafter at regular intervals for early detection of early neoplastic changes which may be curable. |
