Abstract
The aim of the present study is to clarify the validity of phonocardiographic measurements in assessing and quantitating the severity of mitral stenosis in the light of different echocardiographic methods used for evaluation of the severity of mitral senosis. * The material of the present study comprised 28 patients of isolated, non-fibrillating mitral stenosis, 5 males and 23 females, with the age ranging from 15-40 years as a test group. * Also the material of the study includes 10 adult healthy subjects as a control group. * Cases were selected from in-patient of general medicine and cardiology out-patient clinic at Mansoura University Hospital . * Case selection was done on clinical, radiological, electrocardiographic, and echocardiographic basis. * Our cases were classified clinically into mild,moderate
